Wasted

If you’ve never been in the condition that Jamie has found himself, as he staggers up to the fourth floor bedsit, then perhaps a vicarious episode like this scene will illuminate.

Wasted on speed and booze, it seems his brain has finally just shut down, and he’s barely conscious. He can’t make the last set of stairs, so he slumps, after the shock and probably embarrassment at meeting Katarin coming back from the theatre.

Perhaps he’s just missed a step, but however he’s done it, he’s slipped and he’s falling, falling, down the stairs, to land in an unconscious state at the bottom. Fortunately, his body has not tensed up, so his fall is soft. It’s very unlikely he’s broken any bones.

But he’ll need to sleep it off.
