The great thing about contracting with Amazon/KDP on their Kindle Select programme, to my mind, was that in principle one could track readers as they page through the eBook on their Kindle device.
It seemed to take rather a long time before the KENP (the Kindle algorithm for pages read) data came through, but I was delighted to note the reading behaviour of what I think is an early reader. The bar graph represents pages read; while before the reading commenced, there were 9 Amazon ratings, and after the reading, there were 10. An additional 5* rating had been added.

It looks to me remarkably like this lovely reader found the novel to be quite a page-turner, and compulsively finished the book, came to the last page where their Kindle interjects a plea for a rating, and immediately plumped for 5*.
How delightful, I thought, to be with a reader and to clock their progress as they move through the book, thereby validating what readers are telling me to my face, that they found the book very compelling, that they ‘couldn’t put it down’ but had to reach the dénouement with me.
Thank you, unknown reader, and best wishes!
